Yes, the ceremony will be held outdoors (weather permitting) so please dress accordingly. There will be blankets provided and a hot cocoa and coffee bar to keep warm. Jon and I are eager to get married, so our ceremony won't be long (20-30 minutes). And afterwards, the reception will be held indoors.
The wedding is what we are terming as “winter formal” not black tie but not completely causal. But we want our guests to be comfortable! The ceremony will be the only event outdoors, but bring your cozy winter jacket if you prefer. We will have a coat check available so you can peel off those layers as we continue to celebrate during the reception and on the dance floor!
The Ritz will provide a room discount for our guests. All you need to do is book and provide our names for that to be applied. You will need to book by October 15th. Additionally, there is the NorthStar Ski Resort (just an 8-minute gondola ride away (free)). Tahoe is also very accommodating to AirBNBs and other houses for rent.
Yes, we will work with our caterer to provide accommodations. In your invitation, you will be asked for any of these special requests.
Parking will be $15 for the day of our wedding for any guests. Or you can Uber from where you are staying!
For the health and safety of all of our guests, we kindly ask that all guests (regardless of vaccination status) obtain a negative test within 7 days of our wedding. Please upload the results of your negative test into the Google folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1TdaC3Y2w2yaszzo3nJi4tWkaDYa0HfbR?usp=sharing. A screenshot, picture, or exported test results will suffice. All forms of tests are acceptable whether that be through your healthcare provider or now the at-home test options as well.
All Ritz staff are required to wear a mask. There will be hand sanitizer dispensers throughout the venue, including our ceremony and reception sites. As we will have a wedding size of 70 guests, there will be ample room for spacing between tables for the indoor cocktail hour and dinner reception rooms. Dinner will be plated as opposed to buffet style. We welcome any and all guests who would feel more comfortable to wear a mask during our event.
Unless it is required by local law or order, fully vaccinated guests are no longer required to wear face coverings or social distance in indoor or outdoor areas of the hotel. We ask that all unvaccinated guests continue to wear face coverings and practice social distancing when they are in public spaces inside the hotel.
