How We Met

New Years Eve

It was New Years Eve 2018. Our mutual friend was hosting a party. Unbeknownst to them, both of us were considering not going. But thankfully we both showed up. Apart from our mutual friend, we were the first ones to arrive. Festivities happened and we reigned in the New Year. You could say that sparks were in the air! Fast forward to St. Patrick's Day. Friends were gathering for a celebration and we both decided to go, however didn't know that each other were going. Our friends were hoping to continue to light those NYE sparks aflame...and it worked! We started dating and before you knew it we were in love. Thankfully Charlie, Torrie's dog, fell in love too! Torrie introduced Jon to travel, cooking, and non-paper plates. Jon introduced Torrie to video games, expensive cars, and Chick-fil-A. Things were going so well that they decided to move in together. And then 2020...well they are here aren't they?! You could say that quarantine and close quarters brought them closer together; not an easy thing to do during a global pandemic. But on New Years Eve 2020, two years after they met, Jon decided to surprise Torrie (something I might add was not easy to do during a shelter-in-place). Candles were lit, champagne was chilled, and a video montage was made of all of their pictures, both formal and goofy. Elvis Presley's "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" was playing when the screen read "Let's have something to look forward to in this New Year" and Jon got on his knee and proposed! And now we are here and Torrie and Jon are ready to start this new chapter of their lives together!
