We met on Hinge in April 2022. Tori was living on Long Island, Richie in North Haven, Connecticut. Thanks to a generous 30-mile radius and a little luck, our paths crossed—and everything changed. Our first conversation was easy, the kind that makes you forget you're messaging a total stranger. Pretty quickly, texts turned into hour long FaceTime calls, and those turned into weekend plans. The Bridgeport-Port Jefferson ferry became our second home—a floating bridge that connected our two lives for over a year and a half. Every Friday, one of us would make the trip. Rain, snow, sunshine—it didn’t matter. We were weekend regulars, lugging overnight bags, memorizing ferry schedules, and squeezing every minute we could out of Saturday and Sunday. That boat carried our early nerves, our best conversations, sleepy goodbyes before heading back to our separate hometowns, and so many little moments that slowly became the foundation of something real. By November 2023, we were tired of saying goodbye every Sunday night. So, we took a leap—we bought our first home together in Wallingford, Connecticut. Soon after, we got our two cats Checkers (Miss Girl) and Claudette (Lil Lady) who instantly became our entire world. Life now looks a little different: no ferry rides, no suitcase packing. Just cozy mornings, chaotic evenings with the cats, and the quiet joy of sharing everyday life together. We never expected to meet this way, but we’re so grateful we did. From swipe to ferry rides to building a home—we wouldn’t change a thing. We’re beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter with the people who mean the most to us.
