Kristy Williams and Deondra Randle met in Greensboro,North Carolina in October of 2015. They were both attending North Carolina A&T State University’s homecoming, which is also known as GHOE (Greatest Homecoming on Earth). While that is questionable, their love for each other isn’t. Since it was Kristy’s first time at GHOE, she had no idea what to expect and was excited about the weekend festivities that Courtney and Ashley (both are A &T alum and who Kristy was with for the weekend) had planned. They attended an all black party Friday night. While partying and dancing with friends, Dra walked past and begin reconnecting with Courtney & Ashley. He was then introduced to Kristy. Not even knowing her 5 seconds, the jokes started, he called her Krispy. HOW RUDE, lol!!! Dra turned into a full MAC and decided to ask Kristy for her number. They’ve talked every day since then! They were long distance for a majority of their relationship. Dra lived in upstate New York and Boston before relocating to DC to be with Kristy.
Dra had given me a coupon for an all-expense paid trip to Boston, so I decided to redeem it in June 2018. He made dinner reservations at Del Frisco’s to celebrate our two-year anniversary of becoming “official” as a couple. We were running late for our reservation, so, when we arrived we had to sit at the bar to wait for an available table. Once seated we both marveled over the gorgeous view of the waterfront. During dinner, a photographer came over to our table and asked if he could take our photo for their social media site. I am always in the mood for a photo opportunity, so I said “of course”. After dinner we decided to go to the pier to look at the water (We both love water). The same photographer was outside taking photos, but I didn’t think anything of it. He came over to us again and said that he was waiting on his Uber to arrive so in the interim do we mind if he takes more photos of us. In the midst of taking additional photos, Dra got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Of course, I said “YES”! I am so excited for Dra and I to spend the rest of our lives together as husband and wife. Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.
