Locals Guide: Trails and Beaches

Kihei / Wailea side: 1. Hoapili trail -get there early, not much shade 2. Beach Walk -again…early, not much shade, great for seeing whales during season 3. Makena Beach aka Big Beach -not good for kids, the waves are no joke 4. Polo Beach 5. Charley Young 6. The Cove (where you learn how to surf) 7. Ulua – Protip look for an excited banded goatfish, an octopus is close by. 8. Mana Kai (busy but beautiful beach)

Ululani shaved Ice (across from Kihei Canoe Club, 3 locations) Kihei Caffe-breakfast, if the line is too long, go to Lava Rock, better views and great mimosa deals Nalu’s -hands down my favorite breakfast. Ekolu same group that owns Nalu’s and only do dinner. So good! I know it’s in a gas station, go anyway. You’re welcome Three’s Lineage Southshore Grindz (local food) Pint & Cork (get the lobster mac) Fred’s– Taco Tuesday & good breakfast Moose’s Cafe Ole Isana– sushi Monsoon- Indian get there before dark to enjoy the view Kamana Kitchen also Indian, less ambiance than Monsoon though Matteo’s Wailea Kitchen– Vegan The Restaurant 808 Deli daily special for grab & go to the beach. Must follow either FB or IG for specials. Hawaiian Moons for awesome local produce/health food options. (if you’re from the bay area this will remind you of Berkeley Bowl/Rainbow Grocery) That’s a wrap (health food, has a daily special on FB)
