Get a tour of Edinburgh's Castle, a stronghold that was once the residence of Scottish monarchs and now serves mostly as a museum. It stands 443 feet above sea level and overlooks the city of Edinburgh from a volcanic crag called Castle Rock.
Marked as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Calton Hill has some of the city's best views and if you get up early, the best sunrises.
Arthur’s Seat is located in Holyrood Park, at the end of the Royal Mile. This large, grass covered hill is what remains of an extinct volcano that erupted 350 million years ago. It’s a short, slightly strenuous hike to the highest point, but absolutely worth it to look out over Edinburgh from this vantage point.
A very cool, interactive museum with collections relating to Scottish antiquities, culture and history. Also check out the adjacent Royal Scottish Museum.
You can't visit Scotland without drinking scotch! Come here for a tour, tasting or just visit the shop and restaurant.
We love this gin made right in Edinburgh! You can do a tour or get a tasting.
If you're renting a car and have the time, we encourage you to explore Scotland beyond Edinburgh. Some of our favorite places to visit: Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Take a scenic drive through one of Scotland's most beautiful national parks. Oban Visit this cute little seaside town and take a tour of the whiskey distillery. We recommend the Oban Inn for a cozy lunch stop. Isle of Skye Check out the stunning Kilt Rock Waterfall, get a tasting at the Talisker Whiskey Distillery, and hike up to the Old Man of Storr (you can see us at the top of the hike in the photo on our home page). Glasgow The city where Andrew grew up. Visit the University of Glasgow to feel like you've stepped into Hogwarts, or the Kelvingrove Art Museum where they have a Dali painting, among other art pieces.
