Paul Bunyan Trail
The Paul Bunyan State Trail is a 119 mile long biking trail reaching from Baxter to Bemidji, MN. 15 of those miles connect Baxter to Nisswa. Grab a hot cup of coffee and take a short walk through the trees!
Northland Arboretum
A beautiful park with trails! The Baxter entrance to the paved Paul Bunyan Trail is connected to the Northland Arboretum, though there are multiple walking and biking paths within the arboretum itself that lead to beautiful gardens and gazebos.
The Chocolate Ox
A classic small town candy shop with your favorite childhood candies, specialty chocolates, and a wall of Jelly Bellys! The original Chocolate Ox is located in downtown Nisswa (which is our suggestion), though there is a second location on the property of The Grand View Lodge.
MN Traders Co.
10 minutes north of Nisswa in Pequot Lakes, MN Traders Co. is THE local spot for craft fares. Coffee, snacks, cocktails, sandwiches, wine, charcuterie, bagels, literally all of it is at Traders and all of it is delicious! A great spot for breakfast on the 18th.
Fritz Loven Park
80 acres of crisp Minnesotan nature with a 1 mile looping trail that once belonged to an early NFL player (Fritz Loven himself) who played a total of 8 NFL games for the Minnesota Red Jackets and then retired to a secluded cabin in the woods where he lived for 40 years until his death. The dream.
