It begins a little under eight years ago in the spring months of 2018. Sam and Meredith met through their mutual friend Zeb who invited them both out with a group of friends to Merlins Rest in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Meredith, ever punctual, was first to arrive. Zeb followed suit, and third to appear was Sam. Meredith was immediately taken by Sam so naturally she didn't say a single word, and feared eye contact. Sam, interrupting his own conversation with Zeb, introduced himself to Meredith across the table, and they spent the rest of the night swapping stories and - on Sam's part - miming massages. It took three years, two separate moves across state lines, and countless movies watched together over discord before Meredith and Sam made it official in April of 2021. Though it started out long distance, with Sam in Saint Paul and Meredith in Chicago, they connected through facetime, visits to each others' cities, and trips across the country together, culminating in February of 2022 when Meredith made yet another move across state lines back to Minneapolis to be closer to Sam and grow their relationship. One year later, Sam and Meredith (and Meredith's cat Gilly) moved in together to their loft in the North Loop of Minneapolis creating the home they now know and love. Through thick and thin these last four plus years, Meredith and Sam have always chosen to put their love and support for each other above all else; and on a mountain top in Switzerland, Sam asked Meredith if she would spend the rest of her life with him, and if it wasn't obvious - she said YES! ...
