Flight

Munich

Munich (1,5 hour drive) Closest major airport & best one for intercontinental flights. We recommend renting a car if you are staying for more than the weekend. Salzburg & Innsbruck (1 hour drive) Smaller & closer airports. Likely to be cheaper within Europe. You can always rent a car or take the train to Oberndorf in Tirol. Zurich & Vienna (4-5 hour drive) Other major airports. You can also take the train which is around an 8 hour (beautiful) ride. Recommended, if you want to spend extended time traveling in Switzerland or Austria.

Train

Oberndorf in Tirol / Kitzbühel Hauptbahnhof

We recommend taking the train to Oberndorf in Tirol or Kitzbühel Hauptbahnhof for weekend people. It is a beautiful train ride from the Munich airport and takes about 2,5 - 3 hours. Please make sure to book it the train to Kitzbühel or Oberndorf in Tirol. There are multiple Oberndorfs since it literally means "the town above the town" and there are many of those. You do not want to end up in the wrong one. If you are taking the train to Kitzbühel make sure to let us know so we can arrange pick up. If you are flying into Munich, let us know when you are arriving at the airport as we can try and get group tickets which will be cheaper and more fun for everyone. Bayern Ticket is the way to go.
