Travel Note

General Notes

Many of you globetrotters will already be on this! Corfu International Airport is connected to major European hubs. There is also an international Ferry Terminal with daily trips from mainland Greece, Greek Ioanian Islands, Albania, and Italy. Ting has traveled to Corfu both by plane and by ferry. We recommend flying unless you plan to travel in one of these countries before the wedding. Once you're on the island, we will make logistics very easy for you with small bus shuttles to each event from the hotels and villas listed below. There is no Uber on the island, but Taxis are reliable and easy to call. Rental cars are also relatively cheap especially if you book early.

Flight

Corfu International Airport (CFU)

Corfu Airport is <10 minutes from our wedding venue and 15-20 minutes by car from the hotels we have selected. Corfu International Airport is connected to major European hubs including London, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Paris, Athens, and Istanbul. A complete list can be found here (https://www.greeka.com/ionian/corfu/flights/). One tip we'd recommend is to book the international and regional flights separately as regional European carriers can provide more flexibility and better value (e.g. flying United Airlines to LHR and EasyJet from LHR to CFU).

Airbnbs and Villas

Airbnb is generally the best value option, with options starting at $120 per night. The best selection is in Corfu Town. We have otherwise reserved a couple villas (3-5 bedrooms) for groups that may want to stay together. They are located close to the hotels and we will arrange a common pick up point for shuttles. Check them out and let us know before August 1st if you’d like to book for a group ~$250 per room per night. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/51273261 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/662040057770343480 For transportation convenience, we recommend staying in Corfu Town, Kontokali, or Kommeno Bay. Message us before booking if you're unsure.

Hotel

Grecotel Corfu Imperial

Luxury resort-style hotel located on Kommeno Peninsula. The location and views are stunning but it is the most expensive option starting at $700 per night. Travel Note

Ferry Information

The Corfu Ferry Port is near Corfu Town and Airport, with daily journeys to/from mainland Greece, other Ionian islands, Albania, and Italy. We recommend flying over taking the ferry in most cases unless you are already in the surrounding area. For instance, if you plan to road trip through mainland Greece from Athens, it is a short ferry ride from Igoumenitsa on the west coast to Corfu. You can take the car on the ferry. Also, the island of Paxos and Sarande, Albania are less than 1 hour away. You can book these shorter trips with Kerkyra Lines using the following link. Advance booking is not required but recommended a few days prior.

Rental Car

Various

A car is not necessary for our listed hotels and wedding festivities, but renting a car and driving around the island is simple and convenient. You should consider it if you are staying in an Airbnb, require flexibility in your schedule, or want to explore other parts of the island in your free time. Be aware that parking in Corfu Town can be tricky in high season. The airport and Corfu Town have major rental car company chains including Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, and Budget. Reserve early with your preferred provider and use Kayak to compare for the best rates. There are also local companies that offer moped and ATV rentals for the day or ask your hotel concierge. Check out My Moto (https://mymoto.gr) for more information.
