FAQs

Question

Can I bring a date or my child?

Answer

Our venue has limited seating and we both have large families. Your invitation will indicate if you can bring a date or your child.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Mountain Formal is appropriate. What does that mean? Mountain Formal is s a dress code blending elegant evening wear with comfort and practicality suitable for a rustic, natural, or mountainous setting. It signifies a more relaxed yet still sophisticated style than strict formalwear, and comfortable footwear suitable for outdoor terrain. Truckee can have warm afternoons (70-90 degrees) and cool evenings (35-45 degrees) so dress appropriately. We can also get afternoon showers and thunderstorms so pack a rain jacket.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Yes, please see the Travel Page for suggestions. Book early, Truckee is very popular in August.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a parking lot for the wedding and reception venue.

Question

Be Bear Aware

Answer

Don't leave any food in your car, including gum wrappers, or even an empty coffee cup. Our neighborhood bears know how to open car doors. Lock your car door; this is usually the best defense unless there's something that really smells good inside; they will break the window. Use the bear boxes at your rental home or around town. Lock the doors of your rental home, they also know how to open unlocked doors and will invite themselves in.

Question

Stay Hydrated

Answer

DRINK TAHOE TAP Truckee has a single serving water bottle ban, so you won't find that in stores in Truckee. Try the tap water, it's delicious. Pack your reusable water bottle and fill up! As John Muir described "... sparkling Sierra water fresh from the heavens. Drinking this champagne water is pure pleasure..." Speaking of water, drink lots of it! We are at 6,200'. We are high and dry here. Stay ahead of dehydration and altitude sickness by hydrating often.
