NYC is about 50 miles from Dana's hometown (location of the Day After Party) Chester, NJ. Admittedly, much easier to get to from Morristown, NJ which was has train stations that go directly into NY Penn Station. NYC is also about 55 miles from The Conservatory at Sussex County Fairgrounds but will most likely require a car. Timo & Dana highly recommend Circle Line Boat Tours around the city!
The town Dana primarily went as a teenager and young adult to escape Chester/actually have something to do. Morristown has an ample supply of restaurants and activities. It is also home to a great deal of Revolutionary War history. • Morristown National Historical Park Where Washington and the Continental army spent the of winter of December 1779 to June 1780 • Ford Mansion Washington's headquarters that winter • Fort Nonsense The British never actually attacked Morristown and this fort is rumored to only have been built by Washington so that the soldiers had something to do. • Jockey Hollow More Revolutionary War history but also some really great trails and campsites. Also frequently visited location during Dana's Girl Scouting days.
