How We Met (But written in Dana-Speak)

All Because Two People Swiped Right....

Like a truly modern millennial couple, we met on Hinge. Not necessarily because we were trying, but because something (someone) was persistent enough to bring us together (Timo... it was Timo, because Dana was very focused on work and a bit flakey in her text responses). Truth be told, I wasn't trying to date. At the time, I was mainly focused on work and on navigating the grief of losing my mom, Mickey in Jan 2022. The only reason I was on a dating app in May/June was because my cousin, Kara, had wanted to potentially set me up with a friend (and I didn't want that poor guy to be the first-date-post-major-life-loss). Timo was navigating his own life challenges of running a small business in a major city. However, he found me and made the first move (though admittedly, neither one of us remembers what he said and we're too lazy to redownload the app to look it up). But again... I was focused on work (#StrangeNewWorlds), and by this point, admittedly I'd met Kara's friend (who is a super cool & creative person), hadn't been interested romantically, and deleted the app. But the resilient, persistent Timo already had my dating number (a 2nd phone number I'd give out to "strangers" because #SafetyFirstInOnlineDating!). There were at least two or three potential first dates that I canceled on Timo because of work (208 was a big episode, don't judge me), but Timo never gave up. He kept texting, calling and sending voice memos (something that at the time, my cousin Joey Alvaro and I hated, but for some reason, was on ok when Timo did it...) and eventually conned me into a first meeting! Just kidding, but he did convince me he was close to my apartment (which he did not know where was) and in desperate need of a shower. For some reason (sleep deprivation and an intensely difficult scene of dailies), I let him come over and shower while I worked in my home office. Seriously, he came out of the shower and my office door was still closed so he knocked on my door, convinced me to take a break, and we ended up talking for hours that Monday night on June 6, 2022. So yea... here we are ^.^
