Aim for formal attire (long dresses, suits... you know the drill), but above all, just dress for happiness and comfort! Oaxaca has many cobblestone streets, so you may want to leave your stilettos at home (block heels/wedges are probs okay for advanced fancy people).
During October, the temperatures start to dip, especially at night. Temperatures range between the 70s°F during the day and the 50s°F at night. It's probably a good idea to pack light layers and maybe a rain jacket (that you hopefully won't need!)
It's best not to! Stick to bottled water. You're fine at restaurants, though (ice included)!
We'd prefer this to be an adults-only party! If you're in a pinch, it's okay, but we won't be offering any kid menus/activities, etc.
Yep! Make sure you have an up-to-date passport to travel to Mexico.

Yes, absolutely! Oaxaca City is a safe and friendly place that attracts a good amount of tourists. Of course, as always when traveling, it's best to follow some general precautions. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash, be aware of your surroundings, and just use some good 'ole fashioned common sense. đ
Most vendors, including some street vendors, will accept credit card payments (usually Visa or Mastercard). It is still a good idea to carry a small amount of cash. TIP: When paying with a card, if you are presented with the option to process the payment in US dollars or Mexican pesos, always choose pesos. Your bank or credit card will give you a much better exchange rate than the merchant.
Yes, you may leave a tip. Customary tipping practice is around 10-15%.
