With heavy but full hearts we have made the decision to postpone our wedding to November 4 - November 8, 2020. We are looking forward to celebrating together this Fall! Wishing everyone peace, safety and health as we navigate these uncertain times. With Gratitude & Love, Lindsey + Jack
To make sure your arrival goes smoothly, we have hired the transportation/concierge firm “Your Cancun DMC” to pick you up at Cancun International Airport and bring you directly to your hotel in Tulum. Feel free to make your own arrangements, however if you use this service it will group together as many passengers from the wedding as possible per vehicle in an effort to minimize costs. Please follow the link below for additional information and to share your flight arrival/departure information with our concierge, Alejandra. https://www.yourcancundmc.com/lindsey-jack/
A valid passport is required to travel to Tulum, Mexico. Please keep in mind it can take up to 3 months to receive your passport. If your passport is expiring within six months of the wedding, you will need to have it renewed in order to leave the country.
If you would like to join us for the entirety of the wedding weekend, please kindly reserve November 4 - November 8, 2020 on your calendars. We are suggesting arriving in Tulum on the morning of Wednesday, November 4 and flying home in the afternoon on Sunday, November 8.
We are recommending festive resort wear for the wedding and reception. For the ladies think bohemian sun dresses, party dresses, jumpsuits or two piece sets. For the gentlemen we recommend pants with a button down shirt. Please keep in mind that the ceremony and reception will take place in the sand and dancing and tomfoolery is anticipated, so choose your footwear accordingly. With this in mind -- bring your boogie shoes and be prepared to shake your groove thing. Parking on the dance floor will not be tolerated, all violators will be given a tequila shot. Lets all let loose and shake it like bad mama jamas.
Please indulge us by dressing in white, if you don’t mind! We are recommending chic bohemian beach attire for the catamaran. For the ladies think white sun dresses, maxi dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, two piece sets and sun hats. For the gentleman think white linen, casual white button downs, white shorts, pants etc. A light jacket is recommended, as it could get breezy after sunset.
The catamaran has a fully enclosed bar area, bathrooms, huge netted lounging area, plentiful shaded seated area, on board grills, and a hard top roof for sunbathing. Transportation to and from the boat docks will be provided. The sunset cruise will include an open bar, dinner and dancing. https://www.catamaya.com/
Transportation to and from the boat dock will be provided. Buses will be picking up guests from Zorba Beach Homes at 1:45pm to drive to the docks. Please plan for a 50 minute drive to the boat docks. We encourage you to bring music, water, alcohol and snacks for the ride. Reminder that sunscreen, hats and a light jacket are recommended.
If you miss the scheduled busses please take a taxi and plan to arrive no later than 2:45pm, as the boat sets sail at 3:00pm. Catamaya Boat Docks: Bahía Akumal 5, 77750 Puerto Aventuras, Q.R., Mexico
Typical weather in November is highs in the 70's - 80's. Weather is mostly sunny, however we recommend coming prepared with a rain coat or umbrella in the event of inclement weather.
Tap water in Tulum should only be used for bathing. Plan to use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth. Most hotels provide water bottles free of charge for guests.
The Tulum beach road is easy to get around by bike, foot or taxi. Most hotels rent bikes by the day and taxis are plentiful and safe. Be sure to have pesos avaliable. The price for a taxi to and from destinations on the Tulum Beach Road is approximately 80 - 120 pesos. The price for a taxi to destinations in Tulum Town is approximately 150 to 200 pesos. Always ask the price and negotiate cost before entering the taxi.
The exchange rate is ~20 pesos/US dollar.
VISA and Mastercard are widely accepted at established restaurants, hotels and retail stores. However cab drivers, small retail shops and spa services will only accept pesos. Please keep in mind an international exchange fee is charged to most US cards, this fee is typically 3%.
Yes -- however it's best to exchange dollars at your departure airport or before you plan to travel (lines are long and the exchange rate is bad at the Cancun airport).
There is a small pharmacy and general merchandise store on the Tulum beach road in the vicinity of the hotel and wedding venue for basic over the counter medicines, general beach items and snacks. There is also a large supermarket in Tulum Town called Super Chedraui for purchasing groceries, toiletries, etc.
While Mexico has experienced a surge in drug-related violence, Tulum has remained a relatively safe travel destination. Travelers should exercise common sense when traveling in the Tulum Town area: for example, don't walk around alone at night, lock the doors to your cabanas, keep your passport in the safe. Basically be smart and use common sense.
Yes! Majority of taxi drivers, concierge, waiters and bartenders all speak english. Everyone we encountered on our trips to Tulum have been friendly, welcoming, accommodating and generally delightful!
Tulum is a laid back, yet stylish beach town. While the wedding will be resort attire and bringing your boogie shoes is a must, plan to dress in casual sun dresses, swimsuits, two pieces sets, sandals and straw hats the rest of the time! And don't forget to pack a chic all white outfit for the catamaran cruise!
