Earth, Wind and Fire said it best — "Do you remember the 21st night of September?". Why yes, yes they do! Lindsey had just moved to Baton Rouge to start her Freshman year at LSU, and Jack was starting his Junior year. Their paths crossed on September 21st at a birthday party hosted in Lindsey's first college apartment. With Lil Boosie's "Loose As A Goose" playing in the background they locked eyes for the first time. They instantly clicked at the party and stayed up all night talking. Their relationship blossomed throughout the rest of the semester — from LSU Tailgates, to New Years Eve in New Orleans and a Mardi Gras they will never forget. As summer approached Jack mustered up the courage to ask Lindsey to be his girlfriend by cleverly carving "Will You Be My GF" into his favorite snack — a half gallon tub of Bluebell Ice Cream. Lindsey was unsuspecting and so smitten. After sharing a bowl of Krazy Kookiedough the two headed off to Houston to dance 'till dawn at a DayGlow — it was 2011 after all and paint party's were totally cool..right? ;) They've been dancing — occasionally covered in paint — ever since.
The morning of December 28th they awoke in their favorite city — New Orleans — in a shotgun shack in the Bywater district. The day started with a stroll through the Quarter, bloody maria's for breakfast and oysters at Remoulade's off Bourbon Street. Jack then slyly led Lindsey to a variety of places that held special meaning — the first place they said "I Love You", their favorite bar for a mid-day tequila shot, a Magazine Street boutique to purchase a hand sewn kimono and a handful of other stops along the way. At dusk they made their way to Goldfish Island in the picturesque City Park. Right at sunset Jack pulled out a Rose of Jericho with an engagement ring tucked inside, after 8 years Lindsey finally got to say — YES! They then headed to Ralph's On The Park and toasted with champagne cocktails made in honor of the spot Jack proposed. Afterwards they hopped on a street car headed to One Eyed Jack's in the French Quarter for a classic "Who Done It' Clue Themed Game Show. Following the show they second lined with a brass band down Frenchman Street, grabbed hot dogs at Dat Dog and cruised the streets on a double decker art car with Barry White's "Can't Get Enough of Your Love Baby" on repeat. The next day some of their best friends arrived in Louisiana and the celebrations continued through New Years Day!
