Strictly speaking, no. Whatever formal attire you have that qualifies as your Sunday best will be great! We respectfully ask that all attire is appropriate for a church and the Sacred Liturgy. Please avoid short skirts/dresses, low neck lines, and bare shoulders. For the ladies, chapel veils are encouraged, but not required.
Berkeley is typically beautiful in August. It rarely rains during the summer and usually is around 70-75 degrees during the day. It can even get a little chilly at night depending on the wind and fog coming in from the Bay. Walnut Creek is on the other side of the Berkeley Hills and consistently has higher temperatures than Berkeley. Typically it's about 10 degrees hotter on the other side of the hills, so prepare for hot weather at the reception venue in Walnut Creek. However, the festivities at the reception will be indoors with air conditioning, so hopefully we'll escape the heat for the most part!
