Why Martha's Vineyard?

When Anthony and Daniella met in December of 2021, she had an apartment in NYC but was escaping to the Vineyard because of Covid. At the time, Martha's Vineyard was just a small blip on the map to Anthony; a boujee place in the middle of the ocean that he never thought would be such a large part of his life. Daniella's dad, Michael, is a native islander; he is fourth generation island born and proud of it. His two sisters, aunts, uncles, and many cousins (or friends we call cousins) live on island all year round. To many, Martha's Vineyard is only a place visited from Memorial Day to Labor Day. With beautiful beaches and raw bars full of fresh New England seafood, it is a great vacation spot. But to the Gibson family, and now Anthony, it is home. It is waking up early for low tide and clamming in the lagoon, it is driving through town and knowing half the people walking the streets, it is empty local beaches, and too much food and drinks around the fire with a sweatshirt and people who say 'paHk the caH'. These are some of the small things that had Anthony wanting it to be part of his life forever. Daniella's parents were married on Martha's Vineyard in June of 1994. They now summer in the house her dad grew up in. It has been a weekend getaway for countless of Daniella's friends, and now we are so excited for you to be one of them. So here is to understanding an Islander wedding - time to take your shoes off, let your hair down, and be on Island time (New England style)!
