Things To Do

We're so excited to welcome you to Chicago! Below are a few of our favorite things to do in the city and in Oak Park.

Chicago Architecture Boat Cruise

111 East Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601

The best way to see the city and enjoy the Chicago river! This tour is a favorite among tourists and locals alike (especially Allison), filled with fun facts about Chicago's history and architecture.

Oak Street Beach

1000 North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL 60611

Our favorite spot to jump in the lake, dominate our volleyball league, and get engaged!

Navy Pier

600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

Ride the iconic Centennial Wheel or see the summer fireworks Wednesday and Saturday nights!

The Bean

201 East Randolph Street, Chicago, IL 60602

Aka Cloud Gate, it's not a trip to Chicago if you don't see The Bean! Keep an eye out north of the park on Randolph Street for the Blue Cross building, where Alex and Allison both work!

Lincoln Park Zoo

2300 North Cannon Drive, Chicago, IL 60614

Chicago's free and fabulous zoo! Take a walk around Lincoln Park as well and try to spot where we took some of our engagement photos

Billy Goat Tavern (The Original)

Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611

The inspiration for the famous 'Cheezborger' SNL sketch, this is a no-frills Chicago classic for a cheeseburger, a drink, and not much else. Alex's Order: Double cheeseburger with pickles, fresh onions, and ketchup with a cup of chili Allison's Order: Single cheeseburger with extra (extra) grilled onions and a root beer

Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio

951 Chicago Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60302

Nearby our reception venue, tour Frank Lloyd Wright's first home! The Oak Park historic district is also home to the largest number of Wright-designed residences in the world.

Broken Tart

1108 Chicago Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60302

A great spot for coffee & pastries in Oak Park, we recommend the olive oil cake & savory cornbread biscuit!

Ernest Hemingway Birthplace Museum

339 North Oak Park Avenue, Oak Park, IL 60302

The Ernest Hemingway Foundation carefully restored his childhood home to look exactly like it did when he was born. The house is open Thursdays through Saturday and tours last 50 minutes.
