Our FAVORITE place for wings - Mat loves the lemon pepper, and Theresa's go to is the Mama's Sweet n Salty. It's a must any time we come back to Oklahoma to visit!
Theresa's absolute favorite for traditional Vietnamese food, though the sesame chicken here is the best she's ever had!
We went here on our first official date - they serve perfectly cooked bacon as a bar snack, how could you not love it?
When we moved to Texas, Mat found out the sad reality that this is an Oklahoma specialty - so he started making his own. If you can't have one of his homemade onion burgers, this is Mat's favorite place to go! (His tip: add bacon and grilled jalapenos)
The best. pizza. ever. Giant slices, the perfect crust - *swoon* Our favorite is the Ghost Faced Killah, topped with crushed BBQ chips. Get it with a side of pink sauce!
A food hall with something to please everyone - the rooftop bar/patio is a great place to spend a Saturday night!
A bar that serves craft beer, cocktails, and some appetizers - adjacent to the new and beautiful Scissortail Park that has transformed the landscape of downtown OKC!
We've spent many a dinner at Magasin Table (get the crab rangoon!) with craft beers for Mat and sample sips for Theresa at Prairie. Casual in the best way and a fun date night!
Mat's favorite Oklahoma brewery and the makers of one of the beers we'll be serving at the wedding, Everything Rhymes with Orange!
The hotel we will be staying at ALSO has an art museum on the bottom floor which makes for a fun experience for all guests. You can even pick up a purple penguin to accompany you while you check out the art! They are currently remodeling their bar/restaurant/patio area and by our wedding it will be a bar/bodega/swim up bar - so be sure to book a stay for our wedding weekend or come by to check it out!
We found this little gem near the southside of Oklahoma City on a whim one weekend while we were visiting - and we fell so in love with it we'll be having our rehearsal dinner/party (let's be honest) here! It's a beautiful brewery in the Wheeler District that serves beer and organic wine on tap, with a pizza/coffee/bakery shop and playground across the street.
We love going to zoos everywhere we travel, but the OKC Zoo is one of our favorites! The exhibits are well done and you can see a lot of animals. Theresa once took her dad to the zoo and pushed him around the whole park - it is one of her favorite memories. If the weather's nice, you should definitely squeeze a trip in!
