Big Buddha Temple

The best known and most famous of all the landmarks on this island is the Big Buddha temple. Sitting just off the corner of Koh Samui on a little tiny island is a 12 meter tall statue of Buddha in a seated position.

Boat Tour

Angthong Marine Park, a chain of small, uninhabited islands maintained as a national park, could easily be the highlight of your holiday: it’s just that beautiful. At AngThong – snorkelling, hiking and private beaches await. It’s possible to charter your own boat or to go with a tour. I have linked one tour provider here.

Santiburi Golf Course

Santiburi Samui Country Club, high up in the hills above (and with an incredible view of) Samui’s north coast, is Koh Samui’s best golf course (and its only 18-hole option). It offers full cart and caddy service. Shoes and clubs are available for rent, and other golfing paraphernalia is available at the pro shop. After a round, relax with a light lunch and refreshing drink in Santiburi’s breezy patio restaurant. A dress code is in place and reservations are necessary.

Thai cooking class

This is a fun, private cooking class that I did on a previous trip to Koh Samui and would highly recommend (although Chad will be the first to tell you that I'm yet to cook him a dish that I learnt there!) First you choose the dishes you would like to learn, then the chef will collect you from your hotel, drive you to the fresh food markets to buy all of your ingredients. You are taken to their private kitchen and taught how to cook each dish before sitting down to enjoy the food! Classes are 4-5 people and costs 1800bhat/pp (£42 GBP or $78 AUD).

Fisherman’s Village

Away from the busyness of Lamai and Chaweng is a gorgeous little fishing village called Bophut. The village is growing in popularity but it is still quiet enough that you can enjoy the tranquil beach or a coffee in one of the nearby restaurants. The village is worth exploring and even has its own walking street full of eating places, food stalls and cafés.

Jungle Safari

On this 7-hour wild jungle safari tour, you will be picked up from your hotels in Koh Samui between 10:00 - 11:15 AM and taken on a spectacular adventure up into the mountain and through the Jungle of Koh Samui and then down the other side. All safaris are conducted using authentic rugged ex-army jeeps. It is an exhilarating and rugged experience, but safety is always the highest priority.

Nikki Beach Club

One of many popular beach clubs for all day drinking and sunbathing. Other options are: Ark Bar Beach Club, Beach Republic, Cha Cha Moon beach Club.

Jungle Zip Line

Fly through the lush jungle on a zipline at fifty miles an hour and you are sure to take in a lot of the Koh Samui Scenery with the Sky Fox cable ride. Another highlight of the tour is a swim at Samui’s largest waterfall.
