Point Ruston is home to shops, restaurants, hotels, apartments, and an AMC movie theater. Take a walk along the paved path at Dune Peninsula for beautiful views of Mt. Rainier, the Olympic range, and the Tacoma waterfront.
Mt. Rainier national park is the closest national park to Tacoma, about a 1.5 hour drive. The two most popular park entrances are Paradise (south side) and Sunrise (northeast side) It is likely that you will need to make a timed entry reservation this year if visiting the park. It isn't a trip to Seattle without a visit to the iconic Pike Place Market! Here you can find the original Starbucks, Beecher's Cheese, fresh fish and seafood, shops, and souvenirs. Don't miss the fish toss in front of the Pike Place Fish Market where you can also pet Rachel, Pike Place's famous bronze pig. If it doesn't gross you out too much you can also view the famous gum wall close by just beneath Pike Place Fish Market. From Pike Place you can now access the amazing Seattle waterfront by crossing the brand new overlook walking bridge. Here you will find the Seattle ferris wheel, aquarium, views of the space needle, and beautiful views of the Olympic Mountain range.
