The New York State Museum is a center of art, science, and history dedicated to exploring the human and natural history of the state. Established in 1836, it is the oldest and largest state museum in the country. From its beginning, the Museum has been home to some of the nation’s leading scientists, including the founders of American paleontology, ethnology, botany and mycology. Its collections rank among the finest in many fields and total more than 16 million scientific specimens and one million cultural objects.
The Corning Tower Observation Deck is located on the 42nd floor. Breathtaking views of Albany, the Plaza, and surrounding areas can be enjoyed. Also visible are the Hudson River Valley, the Port of Albany, large portions of the city and its government, the foothills of the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and the Berkshires of western Massachusetts.
June Farms is a peaceful farm located on 120 acres of beautiful, fertile land in New York’s Upper Hudson Valley. At June Farms, you can grab a drink and walk around the farm to visit Scottish Highland cows, giant Shire horses, Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs, Nigerian dwarf goats, chickens, ducks, 2 barn cats and a dog!
Druthers Albany opened in 2015. This second location is housed in a warehouse that was originally constructed in 1901. The sheer size of this location (over 17,000 square feet) allows Druthers to produce enough beer for its restaurant and off-premises sales program.
