Travel Note

Arrival and Departure Dates

We are arriving to Varenna on Monday, September 29th, to allow us a few days to adjust and soak up the beauty of the region prior to our wedding. All guests who would like to are welcome to join us in Varenna at this time - We have a few planned excursions on Tuesday and Wednesday leading up to the wedding, which are included in the "Schedule" tab. Following our wedding on Thursday, October 2nd, guests are more than welcome to remain in Italy, return home, or travel elsewhere.

Flight

Traveling from America to Milan

The nearest airports to Lake Como are in Milan, a short drive or train ride from Varenna. Milan has two airports: Malpensa (MXP) and Linate (LIN). We will be flying into Malpensa, but recommend guests fly into whichever airport has available flights that best meet their needs.

Train

Traveling from Milan to Varenna

There's a train line that can easily connect guests from both the Malpensa & Linate airport to Varenna: From the Malpensa Airport, guests should take a train (or bus) from the airport to Milan Central Station (Milano Centrale in Italian). Busses from the airport leave from outside of the terminal every half an hour, and will drop guests right outside of Milan Central Station. Once at Milan Central Station, you will take the train from there to Varenna-Esino. From the Linate airport, there is not a train station so guests will need to jump on a bus outside arrivals and go to Milan Central station (Milano Centrale in Italian) and then take the train from there to Varenna-Esino.
