It all began outside the classrooms in 2018 at the University of Florida when Lauren and Logan first crossed paths while tabling for student government. Thanks to their mutual friend Katie Hernandez, who played matchmaker, they were introduced at The Swamp Restaurant, a popular spot near campus. What started as a casual introduction turned into hours of conversation and weeks of spending time together, laying the foundation for their future. Their first official date? Logan invited Lauren over to watch a movie on the evening of Yom Kippur so she wasn’t tempted by movie theatre popcorn and candy while she was fasting. Logan then invited Lauren to his fraternity’s AEPi Road Rally, a weekend filled with laughter and adventure. A week later, on the night of the big win against LSU, they made their relationship official, becoming boyfriend and girlfriend. Over the next few years, they shared countless memories as Gators. From late-night study sessions in the library (or more often at a booth in Perkins Restaurant) to volunteering together for Florida Blue Key and serving as back-to-back Homecoming Chairs for Gator Growl, their bond only grew stronger. College ended with a celebratory final year together (they even won their final Road Rally) before they ventured into their professional lives. Logan’s first engineering job took him to Tampa, FL, while Lauren moved to Washington, D.C. for the start of her accounting career. Thus began their three-year-long-distance journey, a time filled with challenges but also incredible adventures. They made the most of their time apart, traveling frequently between D.C. and Tampa, embarking on road trips across ten states, and exploring places like Spain, Paris, and Switzerland. On December 30, 2023, Logan decided it was time to take the next step. During a romantic getaway at the Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Ft. Lauderdale, he covered their suite in rose petals and lights after a dreamy night of beach walks and local outings. There, he asked Lauren to marry him—and she said yes! Now living together in their apartment in Arlington, VA, Lauren and Logan have finally closed the distance. They still share a love for travel, with frequent trips to Tampa for wedding planning and adventures abroad, including an upcoming trip to Italy! Their story is one of love, adventure, and partnership, and they are so excited to celebrate this next chapter with you as husband and wife!
