Laticastelli Country Relais

Via Laticastelli, 1
Rapolano Terme (SI), Toscana 53040, Italy

We are thrilled to be hosting our wedding weekend at Laticastelli Country Relais, located in Rapolano Terme in the heart of Tuscany. Borgo Laticastelli is a beautifully restored 13th-century medieval village that has been transformed into a relais and resort. Situated approximately 15 miles from Siena, it offers a central base for exploring Tuscany, including the Crete Senesi region. For the duration of the weekend, the entire property will be reserved exclusively for our guests, allowing everyone to fully settle in and celebrate together from start to finish. Laticastelli is made up of historic stone buildings spread throughout the borgo, each with its own character and charm. Rooms vary in size, layout, and view, all reflecting the property’s medieval origins and the surrounding Tuscan landscape. All accommodations at Laticastelli will be booked and paid for directly through us. Pricing and booking instructions have been shared with invited guests via email. Rooms will be assigned on a first-come basis, and we encourage guests to book promptly so we can accommodate everyone as smoothly as possible. Guests staying on-site will enjoy exclusive access to the entire property throughout the weekend, including the swimming pool, an on-site restaurant (limited hours), and the pool bar. All wedding events will take place at the venue, so once you arrive, transportation will not be needed unless you wish to explore more of Tuscany. Check-in is from 3:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026, and check-out is at from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2026. If you need to check in late, let us know in advance so we can coordinate with the venue.

Flight

Florence, Rome, or Pisa

The closest airport is Florence - Peretola (FLR), approximately one hour and fifteen minutes by car. Pisa - Galileo Galilei (PSA) is about two hours away, and Rome - Fiumicino (FCO) is approximately two and a half hours away. While Florence is the most convenient option geographically, it can be slightly more expensive due to its smaller size. Rome is a major international airport and often offers more competitive fares for those who don’t mind a longer, scenic drive through the Italian countryside.

Travel Note

Transportation

As the venue is in the countryside, renting a car is strongly recommended and offers the greatest flexibility, especially for guests who wish to explore Tuscany before or after the wedding weekend. Complimentary parking is available on site. An International Driver's Permit is required for those who wish to rent a car in Italy. You can easily obtain one for about $20 through AAA. Please don't go without one! IDP Link: https://www.aaa.com/vacation/idpf.html For guests who prefer not to drive, there are several transportation options, including private cars, taxis, and trains. However, the Tuscan countryside is made up of small villages and rural roads, so public transportation can be limited. While Uber and Lyft operate in major city centers, we don’t recommend relying on them for local travel in Tuscany. Taxis & cars should be booked in advance. For trains, Trenitalia is Italy’s primary train operator. Their website is here: https://www.trenitalia.com/en.html The closest train station to the venue is Rapolano Terme. From the station, it’s approximately a 9-minute drive to the venue. It's a smaller station and requires a transfer in Siena. Alternatively, it's a good option to disembark in Siena station. It's 30min from the venue, but as it's a larger town it's easier to get a taxi for the remaining leg. Approximate train travel times are: - Florence: ~2–3 hours with one transfer - Rome: ~3–5 hours with one to two transfers - Pisa: ~3–4 hours with two transfers
