When should I rsvp by?

Answer

RSVPs are due by January 10, 2027. Due to the nature of a destination wedding, we will not be able to accept late responses.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 4:00 pm to be there in time for the start of our ceremony at 4:30 pm.

What are the travel requirements for international travel to Portugal?

Answer

Please make sure your passport is up-to-date. Your passport must not expire for at least 3 months *beyond* your date of departure. IMPORTANT Requirement coming soon in late 2026 - for all travel to Europe, American citizens will require an online, fee-based registration for visa-exempt travelers like Americans, as per the European Union. Costing €7 and valid for three years, it streamlines security checks for short stays up to 90 days in 180 days. The process is very quick, but please make sure to complete this in advance of travel. Please visit https://travel.state.gov/en/international-travel/travel-advisories/portugal.html for US to Portugal travel information. Information will be updated here on a regular basis.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Elegant beach formal or luxury cocktail attire Women: Opt for midi or maxi dresses in flowy, breathable fabrics like linen, silk, chiffon, or cotton. Bright colors and pastels are very popular at this venue. Bring a lightweight wrap, shawl, or blazer for the evening reception. Block heels, wedges, or dressy sandals are highly recommended to navigate the historical stone floors and outdoor areas comfortably. Men: A tailored suit is standard. Light-colored suits (khaki, light gray, or blue) in breathable fabrics like linen or cotton blends are perfect for the seaside setting. For shoes, we suggest polished loafers or dress shoes with good grip.

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Unfortunately, our venue only allows a certain number of guests. Due to this, we ask that only those named on the invitation attend the wedding. Thank you for your understanding!

While we love your kiddos, we have decided to make this an adult-only event.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please let me know this information at least a few months before the wedding.

What if I'm vegetarian? Will their be other food options during the reception?

Answer

Yes, there is a vegetarian option available. Please let me know if you are vegetarian, and I will let the caterer know.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Since hotel blocks are not standard in Portugal, we will have discounted coupon codes available for select hotels for your convenience. Please see hotel recommendations in the "Travel" section.

Should I bring a gift?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift we could ask for. For those who have asked about gifts, we have set up a few digital options (such as honeymoon or cash funds) in the "Registry" section of our website, which makes things easier for everyone traveling internationally. If you would prefer to give a physical gift, we kindly suggest shipping it to our home address rather than bringing it with you, as transporting gifts internationally can be complicated. What will the weather be like?

Answer

Early March in Lisbon features mild, spring-like weather with temperatures typically ranging from 50 degrees to 65 degrees, though it can feel cooler due to wind. While you can expect a mix of sunshine and clouds, occasional showers are common, so packing layers and a waterproof jacket is recommended.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We recommend taking Uber to the venue the day of the wedding. At the end of the wedding night, we will be offering a shuttle at limited capacity, which will take guests from the wedding venue to a central Lisbon meeting point. In addition, Ubers will also be readily available at the end of the night. Please see more information in the "Travel" section.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We will be hosting a welcome party the day before the wedding, and we welcome you to join us for an optional farewell brunch the day after, with food and drinks available for purchase. Please see more information in the "Schedule" section.

Is Portugal a cash-only place?

Answer

Portugal is not a cash-only country, but it is highly cash-centric, especially in small shops, rural areas, and for small purchases under €10–€20. While cards are widely accepted in cities and restaurants, carrying some cash is essential for, small cafes or local eateries, and some taxis/transportation.
