Moran State Park
This park has it all; lakes, scenic views, trails, historic structures, forested campgrounds and a nature preserve! Elisha loves the Mountain Lake Loop, Theo loves the giant trees, and the view from Mount Constitution is stellar on a clear day! For folks who are feeling like they don't want to be out in the elements, this park offers some lovely drives as well.
Whale Watching
Its not called Orcas Island for nothin...so why not get out and try to see a Whale! This website link is just for one of several companies that offers whale watching experiences around the island. Book for a departure from Orcas Island to make it easiest (other tour departure locations leave from other islands that may be harder to reach).
Kayak Tour or Rental
The San Juan Islands are world renowned for the incredible waters around them! If you're feeling up for a kayak adventure, there are multiple kayak rental and tour companies located on the island, and unlimited places to explore on the water. If you are trying kayaking for the first time, or have limited experience in Washington, consider looking for a guided tour. Currents and tides can be tricky in these islands!
