Question

Will there be transportation?

Answer

Yes, we will have 2 buses to take you from the hotel (The French Market Inn) to the church (St. Mary's Assumption Church). Both bus departure times will be 3:45 PM due to potential Mardi Gras traffic. If you are staying elsewhere & choose to Uber to catch the buses, you can use “Cafe Maspero” on Decatur Street as your drop off location. This is on the corner of Toulouse Street, where the buses will be letting people on. After the ceremony, these buses will take you from the church to the Riverview Room for the cocktail hour and reception. Please feel free to make use of these shuttle bus trips as the Uber inflation for the weekend will be at 120%.

How should I RSVP?

Answer

To RSVP, click the 'RSVP' tab and type the name(s) listed on your invitation envelope. If you are unable to attend, we would appreciate you letting us know at the soonest opportunity.

Question

When do I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by Saturday, January 11th, 2025.

Question

What if I cannot make it?

Answer

Your presence will surely be missed. Please RSVP "regretfully decline". If you have RSVP'd attending, but find that you can no longer make it, please notify the maid of honor, Kennedy Gary, at (337) 714-9088.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to limited venue capacity, we are unable to accommodate plus ones unless it is specifically indicated on your invitation envelope. For example, your envelope would list "(your name) & Guest." For families, it will list "(your name) & Family" or "The (your last name) Family." When you go to RSVP, you will be able to see the exact number of people you can RSVP for.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we regretfully cannot accommodate everyone's children at our wedding and reception due to restricted numbers and space. This pertains to children of all ages including infants, toddlers, kids, and teens. Please refer to the 'RSVP' tab to see if we are able to accommodate your children. If we are unable to invite your children, we appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and hope that you will see this as an opportunity to let your hair down and enjoy the celebration with us!

Question

What time is the wedding?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm. Cocktails, dinner, and dancing will follow at the reception.

Question

Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?

Answer

The ceremony and the reception will be held at two different locations. The ceremony will be held at the St. Mary's Assumption Church located at 923 Josephine St, New Orleans, LA 70130. This is located next to and connected to the National Shrine of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos which we highly recommend for you to take the time to explore. This is located at 919 Josephine St, New Orleans, LA 70130. The reception will be held at The Riverview Room located at 600 Decatur St 4th level, New Orleans, LA 70130.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes! The dress code is Semi Formal. This means that guests have the option of wearing their most formal attire but may also choose to wear a formal suit or cocktail dress instead. No jeans please! We also kindly ask that you consider that the event will be held inside of the church and to please avoid colors traditionally reserved for the bride - whites, ivories, and creams. Also, prepare for weather of about 75°F during the day and 65°F after sunset.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors with the exception of a cocktail hour outside (weather permitting) prior to the reception.

Question

Can we take our own pictures and videos throughout the event?

Answer

For our ceremony inside the church, we ask that it be unplugged. For this, we ask all phones and cameras to be put away and there to be no pictures or videos taken! You are more than welcome to take photos and videos throughout the course of the reception. This is such a special day for us, and we have the most amazing photography team documenting our entire day, that way you are able to take it all in, celebrate, and be in the moment with us!

Question

How does seating work?

Answer

The ceremony will be open seating, so sit wherever you please. For the reception, we will be carefully arranging tables so our guests are sat with those they know (or their plus one or partner).

Question

What do I do if I am late for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be starting promptly at 5:30pm. We recommend guests arrive between 5:00-5:15pm so there is time to mingle (with a mindful intention of respect to the church and those choosing to spend this time in worship) and find a seat. If you happen to be late, it is totally okay. Please just quietly find a seat that is the most convenient for you.

Question

Since there will be alcohol, what do we do about driving?

Answer

We DO NOT want anyone drinking and driving. We recommend staying at the French Market Inn since it is a simple 2 minute walk from the reception location. However, if you choose to stay somewhere else, we recommend using rideshare apps (Uber, Lyft) for transportation if you plan on drinking.

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

TBD

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes! The drinks are on us and the hangover is on you - get ready to celebrate!

Question

Do you have a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes, we do! Please use #dyintobeobrien when posting pictures on social media so that we can see them too!
