FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 4 pm. Please arrive 15 minutes before the ceremony to get settled.

Question

What is the best way to get to the wedding and reception?

Answer

We recommend taking the CTA or using rideshare services to reach both venues, as parking in the area is limited to metered street parking. Both locations are conveniently accessible by train and bus. The Brown Line to Addison is approximately a 5-minute walk from the church venue, while the Brown Line to Diversey stop is about a 7-minute walk away from the reception venue.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We invite you to wear semi-formal or cocktail attire. This is your opportunity to express your personal style, whether you prefer a timeless classic look or a bold statement piece, we'd love to see it. November in Chicago can be quite cool, so we recommend bringing layers and a coat for traveling between venues. Comfortable shoes are also a great idea for dancing and navigating between locations.

Question

What is the difference between the cake celebration and the reception? Who is invited?

Answer

All guests are invited to attend the cake celebration immediately following the ceremony in the church lower level until 7:00 PM. This time will include cake, refreshments, and an opportunity for guests to mingle and celebrate together. During or after the cake celebration, guests are welcome to explore the city or enjoy dinner at nearby restaurants before the evening reception begins. The reception is by invitation only and will be indicated on your invitation and RSVP. While all church members are warmly welcome at the ceremony and cake celebration, only guests specifically invited to the reception may attend the reception festivities.

Question

How should I RSVP?

Answer

We'd love to have you celebrate with us! Here's how to RSVP: Simply scan the QR code on your invitation and enter your name as instructed on the RSVP page. You'll then confirm whether you'll be joining us for the ceremony. If you're also invited to the reception, you'll receive a separate link on the next page. This is to complete your reception RSVP on the venue's website. This helps their security team maintain accurate guest counts for the celebration. If you're invited to the ceremony only, you'll see just the ceremony RSVP option.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We've reserved seats for those specifically named on your invitation, as well as for any plus-one guests you've been invited to bring. We appreciate your understanding as we finalize our guest count!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We are excited to celebrate with children at the ceremony! Due to space and safety considerations at the reception venue, only the bride and groom’s nieces and nephews will attend the reception. Please note that both venues include stair access, so we kindly ask that parents and guardians supervise their children at all times.

Question

Are the venues accessible?

Answer

The church includes a lift/elevator accessible from the side entrance of the building. Additional accessibility information for the reception venue can be found on the venue’s RSVP website.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes! Guests will have the opportunity to note food allergies and dietary restrictions during the RSVP process, especially gluten sensitivities or life-threatening allergies. We will do our best to accommodate guests as we plan desserts and our Chicago classics-inspired menu.

Question

What will dinner be like?

Answer

The cake celebration following the ceremony will include cake and light refreshments, but not a full dinner service. Dinner at the reception will be more casual and flexible rather than a formal plated meal. We will be serving a variety of Chicago classics, including deep dish and tavern-style pizza, hot dogs, desserts, and other favorites. There will not be assigned seating or a seating chart, so guests are welcome to mingle, graze, and eat throughout the evening at their own pace.

Question

Will there be alcohol?

Answer

Alcohol will not be served during the cake celebration at the church immediately following the ceremony. At the reception, the bar will operate as a cash bar for most of the evening. A limited open bar will be available from 9:00–10:00 PM and will include well liquor, domestic beers, and custom well hard seltzers.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We'd love for you to be fully present during the ceremony! We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos so our photographers can capture every special moment, and everyone can unplug and enjoy the experience together.

Question

I still have questions, what is the best way to contact you?

Answer

We'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to reach out by text or email us at ginsberga12@gmail.com with any questions or concerns.
