For your convenience, the official currency in Ecuador is the US Dollar. Additionally, taxi services are very reliable and affordable for getting around town. In Ecuador, it can sometimes be difficult to get change for $50 or $100 bills at smaller shops or for taxi fares. So, be sure to bring smaller bills for local shops and taxis. Most places however do take credit cards ! Nota para el viajero: Para su conveniencia, la moneda oficial en Ecuador es el dólar estadounidense.
