Airport—Getting to San Miguel de Allende
Querétaro International Airport (QRO) Located in Santiago de Querétaro, this airport is about 1 hour and 30 minutes from San Miguel de Allende and is our top recommendation for travelers. It offers a slightly shorter and scenic drive into the city, passing through the charming streets of Querétaro—known for its rich culture, colonial architecture, and natural beauty. Upon exiting the airport, you’ll find the car rental building to the left. We recommend Enterprise or National, as we’ve had great experiences with both. If you prefer not to drive, many hotels offer shuttle service or can coordinate a taxi for you in advance. You’ll also find plenty of taxis waiting just outside the terminal if needed. Ubicado en Santiago de Querétaro, este aeropuerto se encuentra a aproximadamente 1 hora y 30 minutos de San Miguel de Allende y es nuestra principal recomendación para los viajeros. Ofrece un trayecto ligeramente más corto y pintoresco hacia la ciudad, pasando por las encantadoras calles de Querétaro, conocidas por su rica cultura, arquitectura colonial y belleza natural. Al salir del aeropuerto, encontrarás el edificio de alquiler de autos a la izquierda. Recomendamos Enterprise o National, ya que hemos tenido excelentes experiencias con ambas. Si prefieres no conducir, muchos hoteles ofrecen servicio de transporte o pueden coordinar un taxi con anticipación. También encontrarás varios taxis disponibles justo afuera de el aeropuerto, si los necesitas.

Airport—Passing through Customs
Upon arrival, you will make your way off your plane and follow the corridor until you reach customs. All passengers arriving from other countries must pass through customs. To enter Mexico, you need a valid passport from your country of citizenship; most visitors do not require a separate visa, but may need to fill out a tourist immigration form upon arrival. Al llegar, saldrás del avión y seguirás el pasillo hasta llegar a migración. Todos los pasajeros que llegan desde otros países deben pasar por revisión migratoria. Para ingresar a México, necesitas un pasaporte válido de tu país de ciudadanía; la mayoría de los visitantes no requieren una visa adicional, pero es posible que tengan que completar un formulario migratorio de turista al llegar.
