Travel Note

Driving

Driving from Northern Neck area takes on average 15hrs to drive including stop times going via 95 South to I10. Our favorite stops along this route include Kenly-95, South-of-the-Border, and the Busy Bee in Live Oak, Fl. We have taken the Atlanta route as well but feel that the rest stops are not nearly as nice and numerous that way and the traffic tends to be heavier.

Flight

Southwest

Flights with Southwest are $379 roughly out of DCA to VPS roundtrip March 29th - returning April 4th. (VPS is 10 mins away from our house in Florida.)

Hotel

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Niceville - Eglin Area

There are plenty of other options for lodging. This hotel is fairly cheap during our dates, sept 14-18 at $187 a night and is right down the road from our house. There is public beach access within a 20 min drive at okaloosa island boardwalk. Also we live right on the water for anyone that just wants to come over and hang out by the water.
