It's opening day for The Rockies. Our senior year at CU Boulder is coming to a bittersweet end. We both (separately) make our way to LoDo for a day of hot dogs and beer with some of our favorite people. The sun is shining, the vibes are high and, little did we know, love was in the air. Soon enough, Ben and I found ourselves in conversation with a mutual friend. We realized we had crossed paths multiple times before this moment but hadn't yet introduced ourselves. Ben wasted no time saying, "Want to buy me a drink?" A gallant attempt at chivalry. And the rest, as they say, is history.
On any given weekend you can find us at a concert, camping somewhere new, skiing with an objectively-too-large group of friends, coming up with new nicknames for Chusko (Mr. Silly Buddy, Boochi King, Chicken Head, Sweet Prince, Nugget, Kooka, etc.), cheffing up a tasty meal, sipping a cold beverage or planning our next vacation.
I booked a mini stay-cation at Grand Lake for the two of us. Paige's first accidental hint was that I said I didn't want to ski while we were up there. Whoops. On the morning of April 1st we went out to breakfast where I could barely stomach my meal. Yes, she noticed. Finally, I took her to the spot: Point Park on Grand Lake. I proposed, but she didn't say yes, she just shook her head a bunch and kept saying, "I'm freakin' out!" Back in Denver, I surprised Paige with an engagement party. Not only were all of our Denver friends there in record numbers, but also our family and MORE friends flew from both coasts to celebrate with us. Next up...Our Wedding! See you on June 7th, 2024 in Telluride!
