Primanti Bros. Restaurant and Bar Strip District
Primati Brothers is home to the most famous sandwich in Pittsburgh! During The Great Depression, Joe Primanti was operating a sandwich cart, in the now Strip District of Pittsburgh. The sandwich is known for its over-stuffed nature. No need for sides when you order this sandwich because it comes with them all between two slices of freshly baked Mancini Bread! The sandwich was a huge hit for truckers and steel mill workers in Pittsburgh because they could eat their entire lunch with one hand! The pastrami sandwich is our favorite!
Strip District
Once you are at Primati Brothers for a sandwich, you might as well take a stroll down Penn Ave to check out the rest of the Strip District. This small slice of heaven is home to some of our Pittsburgh favorites! Do you like cheese and Italian meats? Look no further than Pennsylvania Macaroni! You could literately spend hours browsing the shelves for Italian goodies and picking out Italian charcuterie favorites - prosciutto, capicola, genoa salami, fresh mozzarella, marinated olives and much more! How do you feel about popcorn? Stop by Pittsburgh Popcorn factory for savory and sweet popcorn treats! In need of some Black and Gold Pittsburgh souvenirs? Look no further than the eclectic street vendors of the Strip District! The Strip is also home to many great restaurants like Pamela's Diner and DeLuca's Diner for breakfast and Kaya for lunch or dinner! The Strip is only several minutes from Hotel Monaco! Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh
Pennsylvania is home to the largest German population in the United States, and with that comes great German food, beer and fun! Check out the Hofbrauhaus in South Side Works in Pittsburgh for awesome schnitzel, brats, potato pancakes and liters of beir! If you can squeeze it in to your schedule, the Hofbrauhaus usually has live music in the beer hall on Friday evenings which you may not want to miss. Dancing on table benches and slamming your liter of beer together in an aggressive cheers with a stranger are highly encouraged in the beer hall! If you are lucky enough, you may get to sing Schnitzelbank which is a Policastro family FAVORITE! The Hofbrauhaus has been the location for many fun events for the Policastro family and was certainly somewhere we visited on Andrew's first trip back to PA!
Duquesne Incline Parking West Carson Street Pittsburgh
We may be biased, but Pittsburgh is one of the prettiest, underrated cities in the country and one of the best views of this beautiful skylines is from the top of Mt Washington. Don't miss this picturesque view and take a quick trip up to Mt. Washington on the Duquesne Incline.
Heinz Field - Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers
We cannot forget that Pittsburgh is home to the Six-time Super Bowl Winners, the Pittsburgh Steelers! This is just a friendly reminder for all our guests who are visiting Pittsburgh for the first time!
