Wilmington International Airport. There is an American Airlines and a JetBlue direct flight from Boston to Wilmington. They highly recommend anyone traveling from New England take advantage of this flight sooner rather than later! As a reminder, the wedding is on Labor Day weekend so please take this into consideration and don't wait to arrange your travel plans. If you are looking for an alternative option, Raleigh-Durham International has a lot of direct flights from Boston Logan International. If you plan to fly into Raleigh, the drive to Wilmington would take approximately 2 hours.
Please find their hotel blocks under the "Travel" tab. They have reserved 30 rooms at the Hampton Inn & Suites Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach to make booking your stay easy. They also encourage guests to look into Airbnb & Vrbo. You can find some awesome rentals right on the beach, intercoastal waterway, downtown or close to Mayfair shopping center. If you are looking for a beach rental, they recommend you narrow your search to Wrightsville Beach, which is around 15 minutes from the venue. Other beaches might look close but can be deceivingly far away. They also included an Airbnb link to rental options that are much closer to the venue if you would prefer that over proximity to the beach. Feel free to send Abigayle or Stephen the rental you are considering, and they can let you know if it's a good location for your stay.
Ubers & Lyft are readily accessible in Wilmington, so you don't need to stress about getting around. You can also rent a car for your weekend! Pickup is located near Wilmington International Airport through Budget, Hertz, Avis, and Enterprise. These companies are located near the only terminal in the airport, so picking up your rental car is easy and convenient.
Yes, free parking! If you party hard, they ask that you leave your car overnight and return to get it before 10am the next morning.
As much as they love all little ones, Friday is an adult only event. Kids are welcome the rest of the weekend, just not at the ceremony and reception. Abigayle and Stephen will have their nieces and nephews present for the ceremony. They thank you for your understanding.
Yes! Think Garden Party Formal. Both ceremony and reception will be outside, so please dress in your most comfortable, breathable formal wear. Guys - feel free to ditch the ties! They have linked a pinterest board below if you need some more attire inspiration. https://www.pinterest.com/abbye03/deforge-wedding-attire-inspo/
As much as they would love to have everyone at the big day, they ask that you go by what is stated on your invitation in relation to bringing a plus one. They thank you for your understanding!
The Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, and Reception will be on grass. You should be fine in most shoes, but they recommend a kitten or wide heel vs. a stiletto.
