FAQs

If you have any other questions that cannot be answered here, you can send us a text message or call (as long as it's not the day of!)
Question

Where will the ceremony & reception be?

Answer

The Enchanting Barn at 1325 Pell Rd, Osteen, FL 32764. Be careful driving--these are country roads with limited lighting (hence why we will be purchasing a charter bus for the evening!)

Question

When should we arrive at the venue for the event?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at 4:15 PM, so guests are encouraged to attend a cocktail hour from 3:00 to 4:00 PM to grab drinks and get settled before the " I Do's!"

Question

How long is the ceremony, and where will it take place?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 4:15 PM and will last approximately 20-30 minutes. It will be held in the back of The Enchanting Barn outside (no coverage) with either folded chairs or long wooden benches. Be prepared for that uncertain Florida weather!

Question

How long is the reception, and where will it take place?

Answer

The reception will be held both indoors (with AC/heating) and outdoors (with an outdoor dance floor). There will be an open bar with a licensed bartender on site. The reception will take place from 4:30 to 9:00 PM, with all guests leaving the venue by no later than 9:30 PM.

Question

What food will be served at the reception?

Answer

We will have "Snack Stations" to satisfy your cravings throughout the night, including a Popcorn Bar, a Bar Snacks station, a Smores Station, and a Bread Bar. Smoke & Donuts will be our main caterer for the evening in a "serve yourself buffet" from 5:00-7:00 PM. We'll also have ice cream from our local favorite, Kelly's Homemade Ice Cream. Expect mason jars, paper plates, and no formal dining schedule! Please check out the "Food Options" page on our website for more detailed menu items.

Question

What kind of alcohol will be served?

Answer

It depends! We'll be hosting our "Stock the Bar" Engagement Party on Saturday, 6.11.22, to try and get a variety of favorites for us to enjoy throughout the big day! We expect to have both craft beers and light domestic beer, white and red wine, and a small selection of spirits. We'll also have two (2) signature drinks: one for the bride and one for the groom. Per venue restrictions, absolutely NO shots will be served during the event.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We would prefer that all of our guests RSVP prior to Saturday, 10.1.22.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have a registry with Zola, Amazon, and Target. All links to our registry can be found on our "Registry" page on our website!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We are requesting that all guests be semi-formal: you may wear cocktail dresses and/or tuxes, or a nice pair of slacks and shirt. Keep in mind the unpredictable Florida weather--be prepared for anything!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We would like to keep our big day as intimate as possible; therefore, we are not accepting additional guests beyond our invitation list.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Absolutely! The venue can hold up to 200 guests (though our party will be much less!), and we will also be offering transportation to and from the hotels so that our guests can drink responsibly and make it home safe!

Question

What accommodations are available at the venue?

Answer

Both bathrooms have ramp access, and there are paved pathways from the back of the barn (ceremony location) to the front of the barn (reception area). There will be a variety of seating both indoors and outdoors, and inside seating will have AC/heating available.

Question

Can we take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are asking that all of our guests stay "in the moment" with us and please refrain from using your cell phones/cameras during the ceremony (that's what we paid our awesome photographer for!). You may, of course, take as many pictures as you would like during the reception! Feel free to share on our Dawson Wedding Instagram with the hashtag #awesomedawson.

Question

What is the weather usually like in December in Florida?

Answer

The weather is always unpredictable, but typically the highs are around the low 60s F with lows in the mid-to-low 40s F. Showers might happen, but in true Florida fashion, they'll usually be over in 30 minutes--but December is not usually a rainy month. Dress comfortably, and bring a jacket in case you get chilly!

Question

What should I bring with me?

Answer

Other than yourself...please bring cash for tips (we will have a licensed bartender responsibly serving all night, as well as a day-of wedding coordinator and wedding assistant making sure everything goes according to plan), a jacket/sweater in case you get cold, a change of shoes (if you plan on hitting up the dance floor throughout the night), your ID if you are over the age of 21 (yes, our bartender will card you!), and any just-in-case items you can think of (bug spray, makeup touch-up, tissues, etc.).
