Kyle and I met at The Loop, a bar in the North Loop neighborhood in Minneapolis. He was out with his guys, and I was out with my girls, but I caught his eye from across the bar. Through conversation, we'd come to find that we attended the same elementary, junior high, AND high school without ever crossing paths. I believe we finally stumbled across one another at the perfect time. After a night of chatting and dancing, he asked when he could see me again. A couple weeks later, we went on our first date at Birch's on the Lake, and the rest is history.
Hiking is one of my absolute favorite activities to do. Kyle planned a hiking adventure at Afton State Park with some of our best friends over Memorial Day weekend 2020. We filled up our water bottles, laced up our shoes, stuffed our packs, and hit the trails. During the hike, our friends, Bryce and Abby, asked me to take their photo at a beautiful vantage point along the St. Croix River. While I was fumbling with taking the photo, Kyle was rummaging through his pack to find the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. Abby then offered to take a photo of Kyle and me, and captured the moment when Kyle got down on one knee and asked me the easiest question I've ever answered. We popped some champagne that our friends snuck into their packs to celebrate. We celebrated our engagement with good food, a beautiful cake, and our wonderful friends and family later that evening. It was absolutely perfect. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you!
