Travel Note
Crested Butte is made up of two smaller areas: The town of Crested Butte and Mt. Crested Butte. The wedding itself is happening in Mt. Crested Butte, which is about an 8-10 minute drive up the mountain from town. The town is very walkable in and of itself, as is Mt. Crested Butte, but plan to drive, shuttle, or use FirstTracks (if available) between the two (unless you're looking to fit in some real exercise while you're there)!

The Mountain Express is a free public transportation system serving Crested Butte and Mount Crested Butte. The town shuttle runs every 20 minutes from 7:35 AM to until midnight (with multiple stops in town and on the mountain) making it a convenient option for getting around without a car. Because ride-share services like Uber/Lyft are very limited in Crested Butte, many visitors use FirstTracks, a free, on-demand ride service in Mt. Crested Butte! Through the FirstTracks app, you can request a ride from your hotel, condo, or rental anywhere within the Mt. Crested Butte service area. Summer service runs from 7:45 AM to 2:30 AM and can also connect you to the Town Shuttle, the amenities of the CBMR base area, or the Gunnison Valley RTA. After 10 PM, late-night service expands from Mt. Crested Butte to downtown Crested Butte and northern Gunnison Valley for a small per-person fee. MTJ is a popular option for flying to Crested Butte, typically offering more flight availability and lower prices than GUC. Montrose is a ~1.5-2 hour drive to and from Crested Butte. Major airlines that service this airport include United, American, Delta, and Southwest.

Located ~30 minutes from Crested Butte, GUC is the closest airport and most convenient option if you're looking to minimize driving. Some airlines seasonally offer non-stop flights (United from IAH and American from DFW), while most routes include one connection (typically through Denver). GJT is another great option if you’re looking for competitive pricing and additional flight availability. GJT is a ~2.5–3 hour drive to and from Crested Butte. Major airlines that service this airport include United, American, and Delta.
