The Utah desert has been home to many adventures for the two of us, both independently and together. We treasure the desert southwest and want to share this amazing area with those we love. Southeastern Utah, in particular, is one of the places we miss most since moving to Seattle. We are so excited to show everyone why we are so obsessed with Utah! Fortunately, we put together a road trip playlist of our favorite music for you to listen to on the drive! Please look up Samantha Taylor Christensen on Spotify, and look for the playlist titled "Road Trippin".
No. The La Sal Mountain Loop Road is paved in both directions from Moab. While in town, if you plan to explore Canyonlands (such as the Shafer Trail or the White Rim Trail, which requires a permit), we recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle. A standard SUV is fine for the Shafer Trail. The other nearby national park, Arches, has mostly paved roads.
Canyonlands and Arches (specifically the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands) are within 45 minutes of Moab and offer a variety of hikes ranging from easy to moderately difficult. Arches has many wild arches and rock features to gawk at while Canyonlands Island in the Sky consists of vast open views from a canyon rim. Canyonlands is also the couple's favorite national park in Utah. The Maze and the Needles, the two other districts of Canyonlands, are further away and require more planning. Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion are all further West and several hours from Moab.
There is parking at the venue, but space is limited. We encourage carpooling whenever possible. Shuttles will be arranged for the wedding day from the Marriott Fairfield Inn. If you are staying at this hotel, the shuttle schedule will be in your welcome bag. For events outside of the wedding day, guests will need to arrange their own transportation.
We're so excited to celebrate this special day surrounded by our closest family and friends. As we're keeping it intimate, only those formally invited on your wedding invitations can be accommodated. If you have a plus one, it will be noted on your invitation and when you RSVP.
Please refer to the schedule page for more details on the dress code for each event. The wedding party will be wearing purple and green hues, and we encourage all guests to wear these colors if you have them.
Yes, children are welcome to attend the wedding, and we will have appropriate food and seating accommodations for them on the wedding day. Please indicate on your RSVP if you will be bringing children so we can plan accordingly. Children cannot stay overnight at the venue or attend the after party.
