Exchange money right after security if you want to have pesos. I recommend so you aren’t up charged. You will need for taxis Uber does work 10-15 minutes drive along the beach to the Hilton. Close to shops, coffee stores, drug store, restaurants, and bakery. They have security Need your passport for check in & pay at check in Always have water bottles hydrate! Do not drink the water Do not flush toilet paper but place in trash cans next to toilet this is the case EVERYWHERE At the Hilton is a gym, hair salon, spa, tennis courts, and two pools. Beach access as well. Pools close at 8pm Beach closes at 6pm Night life is a taxi ride away- clubs and most bars aren’t far but have to order a taxi. Call or go to front desk and they will call taxi for you or usually they are outside waiting. Breakfast buffet is included for your room only IF THROUGH ROOM BLOCK It’s so good w/ so many options! The breakfast is on the second floor from the stairs near the shops going that way. During week you can book excursions through the Hilton I recommend this it’s the same price as a person on the street but secure. $20/day for vip lounge 6-8pm happy hour snacks w/ Wine and beer During day-snacks It’s very HOT prepare yourselves Cars do not stop for pedestrians so watch the road and do not walk out in front of cars Do not give out money in the city if you do a swarm will come after you In a taxi make sure you double check for stuff left because it’s rare to find that same taxi. Always make sure you get in YELLOW taxis they are operated by the gov For souvenirs/coffee/candy don’t buy at airport so expensive Cartagena is very safe w/ tourists everywhere don’t look flashy in the streets. Some know English but very little
