Our Story

The story of Juan and Cassandra was an unexpected journey.

It started out when they both found themselves immersed in the world of Cutco kitchen knives. Despite residing in separate cities—Wilmington for Cassandra and Charlotte for Juan—their paths crossed through Cutco, forging a connection that started as friends. As fate would have it, their bond grew stronger over time, proving that sometimes love can be as sharp and unexpected as a well-crafted knife—the kind you might find in a Cutco set! Embarking on a new chapter, Cassandra chose to relocate from Wilmy to Charlotte and transfer to UNCC, where she initially knew Juan as a fellow student, revealing the remarkable alignment of God's plan in their story. In her first summer in Charlotte, Cassandra approached Juan with a request to sublease his place while he managed a Cutco office out of town; however, when Juan returned for a significant sales competition, he ended up crashing on the couch in the very place Cassandra still called home—a surprising turn of events that turned out to be a blessing. During that time, they got very close, spending hours hanging out and getting to know each other. Eventually, Cassandra moved into her new place however, the time spent together did not stop and the continued bond grew. Juan showed Cassandra around the city and the university. It wasn't until their friends called them out - asking if something was going on between them, that they recognized they were more than just friends. And the rest is history. And now, on September 16, 2023, engaged in a sunflower field surrounded by God’s nature, they find themselves living a fairytale, having chosen each other as life partners, guided by the hand of God.
