Sometime in early February, 2023: Chris is staying at his friend David and Gerry’s apartment in Mayo, Maryland, for the weekend. He matches with Sarah on Bumble. They get to talking, and agree to set up a date. Sarah mentions a brownie sundae. Chris recommends the fanciest restaurant that he knew of back home. Sarah says, “Try harder”. What was the better idea that Chris came up with? February 12th, 2023: TGI Fridays. Chris is nervous and feeling it from the night before. Sarah uses the bathroom about twenty times presumably texting Audra. Despite this, the two hit it off, discussing their travels, studies, and Ernest Hemingway. They wind up closing the place down. The date ends with slow dancing in a pouring rainstorm in the parking lot. March 2023: Sarah moves from Crofton to Odenton with her friends Kristen and Dustin (may he Rest in Peace). Chris helps her move her stuff in and becomes good friends with everyone. From March until May, he is there almost every weekend despite working on the Eastern Shore. (Somewhere in this time frame, Chris thinks it’s a good date idea to see Cocaine Bear. Sarah screams…loudly enough to scare everyone else in the theater) May 21st, 2023: Chris is again in Odenton, preparing for his graduation in Baltimore. The two tell each other “I love you” for the first time at Londontown Gardens in Edgewater. June 2023: Chris gets a job at the Army Corps of Engineers in Baltimore. Every weekend turns quickly into every day (thanks Kristen). October 2023: Sarah buys her first house, which just so happens to be down the street from Londontown Gardens where they first professed their love. Chris’s birthday gift is a key. The two officially move in together. The dishwasher floods shortly thereafter, and through the suds, the future becomes clear. November 2023: Sarah decides she wants a dog. Chris reluctantly adopts Itchy, but falls in love immediately. July 2024: Sarah’s family, along with Chris, go on a trip to Spain. The surprise is almost spoiled multiple times, but Chris proposes on a balcony in Madrid shortly after midnight on July 21st – coincidentally, Ernest Hemingway’s birthday. Sarah just says “ooh, shiny!” but nods her head, so Chris takes this as a yes. June 20th, 2026: The two will tie the knot in Frostburg, Maryland- where Chris went to college, but more importantly, a place that the two both fell in love over chilly camping trips together.
