A tea ceremony is a Chinese tradition wherein the bride and groom serve tea to their families, including parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, and other esteemed elders. Symbolizing the union of two families, it is a meaningful part of the day, typically taking place inside the family home. After the receiver drinks their tea, they will give their congratulations and blessings to the marriage, usually accompanied by a gift of red envelopes (ang bao) or jewelry.
While we love all of your little ones, due to limited numbers, we hope you understand that children are only invited if named. We know weddings can get **emotional** so if you have little ones that may not be able to handle the ceremony, we ask that you sit somewhere that you can easily take them to a more comfortable area if needed or that they join us for the reception instead!
We have wonderful photographers and videographers who will capture the moment for all of us and we would appreciate it if you did NOT use your phone/camera/iPad during the ceremony. We will have a moment for everyone to take out their phones and take pictures and then we will ask that you put them away and be present with us during the ceremony!
