Once upon a time, there were two kids named Allen and Vicky who were in the same fourth-grade class. They would often play together during recess. Their favorite game was four square and Allen swears he was Vicky’s “bodyguard.” They had a lot of fun, but as kids do, they eventually grew apart and went their separate ways. Years passed, and they both went to different colleges, pursuing their own dreams and interests. But fate had other plans for them. After college, Allen came back to West Hartford and decided to reach out to Vicky and ask her out for a drink. They met up at a local bar and instantly knew that there was something special between them. They talked for hours, laughing and sharing stories about their lives and talked about the good old days when they played together. A stranger was surprised that this was a first date because they had "palpable chemistry." (Thanks Bruce and Brian) After that night, they started spending more time together, rarely going a day without seeing each other. They realized that they had a deep connection and that they were meant to be together. They fell in love, and soon, they knew that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Allen proposed on Vicky's birthday after she blew out her birthday candles, granting her wish. Their love story is a testament to the fact that sometimes, fate brings us back to the people who are meant to be in our lives. Vicky is a PA working in pediatrics and urgent care! Allen graduated from medical school a week before the wedding! He will do his intern year at Yale-Waterbury Hospital and then his radiology residency at Hartford Hospital! It has been a special journey as they studied and discussed patients, cases, and problems with each other. They also got a puppy named Eevee and she can't wait to meet you all!
