Tessa and Dave (that's us!) first met in January 2012 in St. George, Utah. We both worked at a wilderness therapy program for youth and adults. We were practically neighbors, worked together often, and rock climbed together regularly. Over much of that year our friendship developed and by Christmas Tessa was ready to meet Dave's family. During the next year, we traveled together and climbed a lot, deepening our relationship. Following a few months of long-distance during Tessa's new job at the University of San Diego, we spent almost three months traveling together in Europe - meeting Tessa's family in France, skiing in Switzerland, and climbing in Greece, where we shared our first studio for one month. To top off our year of adventure we took a road trip from San Francisco to Seattle and over to Ontario, landing in Temagami for the summer. Since then, we've been living in Ocean Beach, San Diego. Dave got his masters in Organizational Leadership Development at USD while Tessa worked at Outdoor Adventures on campus. Now Dave works downtown doing business development for Kid Spark Education and Tessa travels around instructing backpacking courses for NOLS, mostly in the Rockies and the Southwest. We both found a new love for pottery a couple years ago and occasionally we teach at a local studio. We dream of having space for our own wheel and kiln someday. The newest member of our pack is Juniper, our 30-pound bundle of joy. We love taking her to the dog beach just down the street and teaching her new tricks. On September 29th, 2018 Dave drove to Tucson to pick up Tessa after a NOLS course. He took her out to a beautiful dinner at Hacienda Del Sol and proposed! We are so excited to share the next step of our journey together in life with you. We know that many of our family and friends are scattered all over the globe, and we hope that you can join us at one of our upcoming celebrations.
