WELCOME - We hope you brought tacos

The short version of this story is we met at Purdue. The detailed version is we met in a dining hall. Sort of. Our first dinner together was in Ford Dining Court, with about 15 other people... and we don't remember meeting each other. But hey! Thank goodness for thermodynamics, a class we shared a year later. Some long study nights with friends brought us closer together. After spring break we reconnected at a friend's birthday and then after waiting one appropriate week, we went on a lunch date. The rest is history!

Amidst the difficulties of mid-2020 we were lucky enough to fly back to West Lafayette, Indiana to see Tessa's family for the Fourth of July. On the day of the proposal, some "totally legit" plans were made to go to campus and walk around. On a hot humid Indiana summer afternoon. The timing was perfect, around 5pm we were right in front of the Engineering Fountain and Alejandro got down on one knee. The Bell Tower was singing the Purdue hymn in the background making the moment. Hiding in the surrounding shrubbery were our family and friends: some well hidden, others really not... But Tessa said yes, we all came together and celebrated.
