We both swiped right, Dan a relatively new arrival to Victoria and Terri an old hand to the Melbourne life. As it was coming into winter it was decided the Napier Hotel, a nice pub with a fireplace, would be a good option for our first date. Despite (in Terri's memory) it being clearly agreed this would be a post-dinner drink, Dan elected to eat an enormous Chicken Parma by himself. Dan's recollection is that he played it pretty cool. Terri's is that she received a soppy text a few minutes after parting asking to meet again. After this intriguing first impression we were off to the races. There were some challenges in the early days. Dan discovered his "methodical" approach to cooking romantic meals for Terri did not mix well with her preferred dinner time of 5:30pm. Terri discovered her militant approach to making plans and sticking to them was going to be tested, despite Dan's good intentions. Nevertheless, some six months later Terri was brave enough to come up to Brisbane to meet the extended family and a few months later Dan made the journey to Rotorua to meet the Kiwis. Two houses, a few jobs, some eye-opening travel, a global pandemic, a baby and a cancelled wedding later Terri and Dan are excited to be tying the knot surrounded by those we love. See you on the dancefloor!
