Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Teresa Kwak and John Geiger
Note on Food at the resort: El Dorado has TONs of restaurant options, but some are better than other (see recs below). Breakfast and Lunch are first come first serve. Dinner requires a reservation, and typically reservations can only be made at the time of check in. Our group has received special permission to make reservations early, to ensure everyone gets reserve dinner at the spots they are most excited about. Details on this to come! Additionally, below are some excursions that are included in your stay at El Dorado without any additional charge... just make sure to book your excursions as soon as your check-in to ensure you reserve your spot:

On-Site Food Options

After visiting the resort, here are the places we'd recommend eating (keep in mind while making dinner reservations): - Health Bar (yummy smoothies + good light/quick breakfast options) - Cocotal (breakfast buffet - better than the one at Generations) - Cabana Pizzeria (great spot for lunch right by the pool... preferred this over La Isla) - Spot (yummy tacos for lunch) - Kampai (Asian Fusion - great lunch or dinner option) - D'Italia (Italian - our favorite dinner spot) - Santa Fe (TexMex - also a great spot for dinner) Places we didn't get to try, but heard good things about: - Fuentes (dinner theater - extra cost) - Rincon (Mexican) - Wine Kitchen - Taco carts (apparently amazing when they pop-up!) If you have time to explore other options and are interested, feel free, but we'd recommend starting with these!

Catamaran & Reef Snorkel

Feel the excitement of the sea breeze as you embark on an exhilarating catamaran ride or snorkel exploring the crystal-clear waters surrounding Maroma Beach. Hours are from 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM. The trip lasts 3 hours and includes alcoholic beverages, bites, and a snorkeling tour.

Maroma Beach

Maroma Beach Club is recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world and can be reached in ~10 mins by a shuttle service provided by the resort. Non-motorized water activities (kayaking and paddle boarding) are included at no additional cost. Access to the beach club's sunbeds and restaurant services are also included at no additional cost. ***Note: we've heard the beaches at el Dorado adult-only locations (Royale/Casitas Royale) aren't the *most swimmable* (but there are tons of pools!). For beach swimming, most people go to the on-site beach at Generations or take the shuttle to Maroma Beach Club. We'll report back in November with details on this!

Ecotourism Ranch

Explore the tranquility and serenity experienced when surrounded by the majesty of horses and the energy of all the rescued animals on the ecotourism ranch. The ecotourism ranch experience includes a "horse contact experience" and a "natural spring/cenote swimming experience".

Aqua Nick Water Park

Raise your adrenaline level and join the party at Aqua Nick - the water park of Nickelodeon Rivera Maya Hotel. Access to the Aqua Nick water park with food and beverages at "Aqua Bites" is all included with your stay at El Dorado.
