Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Shannon Lane and Brendan Taylor
We are so grateful for how many people are coming from out of town to celebrate with us, and some of you are even coming to Philadelphia for the first time ever! So, we compiled a list of our favorite restaurants, bars, museums and neighborhoods in the city for you to explore! One of our favorite things to do together is try new restaurants and return to our favorites, so we're excited to share them with you! All photos below are from some of our trips there.
Almyra Restaurant

Almyra Restaurant

1636 Chancellor Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This Greek restaurant is connected to the Hyatt Centric, one of our hotel blocks for our wedding weekend, making it a super convenient stop. The food and atmosphere are great, and the people watching is top notch.

Spice Finch

Spice Finch

220 South 17th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This Mediterranean restaurant is right across the street from the Hyatt Centric, and we love to take out-of-town guests here.

The Love.

The Love.

130 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Appropriately named, we had brunch here before we went to look at engagement rings. 💖

Andra Hem

Andra Hem

218 South 16th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19102

This is a small, swanky cocktail bar off of Rittenhouse Square. They have unique, fancy cocktails and cozy seating.

The Dandelion

The Dandelion

124 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This British-inspired pub has a dog-themed room and is a 15-minute walk from the venue. Need we say more?

Wilder

Wilder

2009 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This restaurant has amazing food, drinks and atmosphere—and is less than a 10-minute walk from the venue!

Parc

Parc

227 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This French-inspired bistro is right on Rittenhouse Square, just 15 minutes from the venue. We love outdoor spring brunches here! If you want the quintessential Philly dining experience, this is the place.

Via Locusta

Via Locusta

1723 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

If you can't get a seat at Parc (and sometimes it gets truly packed), try heading next door to Via Locusta. There's lots of outdoor seating, and it has a great happy hour menu.

Bar Bombón

Bar Bombón

133 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This amazing Puerto Rican restaurant is less than 15 minutes from the venue and is 100% vegan (though you would never know it). We cannot recommend it enough, and neither can Dex!

a.kitchen+bar

a.kitchen+bar

135 South 18th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

a.kitchen has amazing food, and its cocktail bar (a.bar) is right next door. They're right off of Rittenhouse Square and a 15-minute walk to the venue.

Friday Saturday Sunday

Friday Saturday Sunday

261 South 21st Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

If you're turning the weekend into a longer stay and want to go all out, Friday Saturday Sunday is the place to do it with a unique 10-course prix fixe menu. You can also grab seats at the bar for a la carte dishes and delicious cocktails.

Superfolie

Superfolie

1602 Spruce Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

We love this lofted wine bar for its natural wines and cozy atmosphere. Plus, they have a happy hour on Saturdays from 3-5 p.m.

El Vez

El Vez

121 South 13th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107

This is one of the first restaurants Brendan took Shannon in Philly! It's one the go-to spots when you're in the city.

El Techo

El Techo

1830 Ludlow Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This is probably our favorite rooftop restaurant/bar in the city. It's located on the roof of the Motto by Hilton hotel, and there's another restaurant on the ground floor. It's perfect for a pre-event meetup or a quick bite as you're exploring!

The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia

The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia

10 Avenue Of The Arts, Philadelphia, PA 19102

The bar at the Ritz-Carlton, officially called the Aqimero, is a great place to stop in for a nice cocktail to start the night.

American Sardine Bar

American Sardine Bar

1800 Federal Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146

Our local neighborhood bar and kitchen, we're here basically all the time.

Two Eagles Cafe

Two Eagles Cafe

1401 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19146

This is another local favorite of ours in our neighborhood! It has great coffee and easy breakfast options. (They usually deliver if you're feeling a little *slow* in the mornings.)

Dock Street Brewery South

Dock Street Brewery South

2118 Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19146

Our local (dog-friendly) brewery has great food, outdoor seating, board games, and pool. The TVs are either showing sports or Netflix reruns.

Italian Market 9th Street

Italian Market 9th Street

919 South 9th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147

This classic Philly street has restaurants, coffee shops, produce, and, of course, the infamous pole they grease for people to try to climb.

Barnes Foundation

Barnes Foundation

2025 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130

The art in this museum is all from a private collection and has QR codes next to each piece, which will tell you more about it and save all your favorite artwork for you to look back at after you leave. We had so much fun here!

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Philadelphia Museum of Art

2600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19130

The infamous Rocky steps are just the start. The inside is gorgeous with tons of art. We spent hours here and still haven't seen most of it yet!

Victory Brewing Company Philadelphia

Victory Brewing Company Philadelphia

1776 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103

This city brewery is in the same area as the Franklin, Barnes and Art Institute. It's filled with Philly sports-inspired art (though we don't hold that against them). They brew their beers in house and sell beer to-go!

Museum of the American Revolution

Museum of the American Revolution

101 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106

You might have heard Philly is home to a lot of early American history ... We came here with Shannon's family the day after we got engaged!

Fork

Fork

306 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106

And this is where we had lunch after the American Revolution museum the weekend we got engaged!

Morimoto

Morimoto

723 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106

We've had some of our favorite meals ever at this super cool Japanese restaurant.

Zahav

Zahav

237 Saint James Place, Philadelphia, PA 19106

You can't have a Philly recs list and not include Zahav. It's a pre-fixe Middle Eastern restaurant that books up months in advance, so plan accordingly if you want to go!

Middle Child Clubhouse

Middle Child Clubhouse

1232 North Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19122

If you want to explore Fishtown, we highly recommend stopping in here! This chill diner has cocktails on tap and pool tables.

Stateside

Stateside

1536 East Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147

You can pull up to this cocktail bar and either sit inside or at the windows (perfect for people watching in one our favorite neighborhoods, Passyunk).

Barcelona Wine Bar

Barcelona Wine Bar

1709 East Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19148

We love tapas, and this is one of our all-time favorite places to go for them. We've pretty much tried the entire menu and can confirm everything is delicious.
